Initial Questions

What IS instructional design?

Instructional design is the process of creating training/educational materials based on solid a solid understanding of learning and design principles. ADDIE is a common framework, whose acronym stands for:

  • Analysis

  • Design

  • Development

  • Implementation

  • Evaluation

Effective instructional design also requires knowing how to align training with an organization's strategic goals, balancing them with the company's resources and priorities.

Do I need a consultation if I already know what training I need?

The short answer is "Yes." You may, in fact, know exactly what you need.  But knowing the topic you need to train on, and knowing the instructional design methodology required to make that training effective are two different things. The initial consultation will allow us to align on expectations and make sure you're getting the solution your learners truly need.

How do you customize your services for niche companies?

Customization is the foundation of good instructional design. By doing a thorough analysis of your organization's goals, needs, and aspirations, we can create a plan that is tailored to your learners and that supports your overall strategy.

We're struggling to continue training during COVID. Can you help us adjust?

Yes I can. I will review how you've been conducting training, learn what your priorities are, and assess the resources that you have. Working within those parameters I can advise you on a realistic, achievable training plan.
